Hi there! If you’ve clicked on the Start Here button, I guess that means you’d like some more information, right?
When the beekeeper (Chad) and I (Christina), the gardener, first talked about starting a blog, we discussed the “why” of creating such a platform for Blackwell Bees & Co. Here are our top THREE reasons:
- We are having loads of fun turning our property into a thriving, productive homestead. We’ve made lots of mistakes and would like to share the lessons we’ve learned along the way.
- We’d like to connect with like-minded people in our own community, that is Sarnia-Lambton. Maybe we can start seed sharing, have a food co-op or host regular gatherings to talk and share tidbits of knowledge with each other.
- We want to connect with people all over the world who are doing this very same thing: turning their lawns into gardens, keeping bees and chickens and learning to preserve the summer harvests. Since the work here keeps us busy and unable to travel all over the world, what better way than the internet to connect with others on a global level?
If you’d like to get in touch with us, please do! We can be reached here, in the comments section or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And here’s a picture of our farm dog. Just because.
